Steffen Pilskog scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Theodor Hjelmeland, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 9 minutes into the game, Marius Granly recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fridtjof Kirkhus. Marius Granly showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Aal Blackhawks's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Marius Granly scored to the left of an out of position Fridtjof Kirkhus, making the score, 2-1. A collision led to Rosenborg United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Jon Kolsrud hit a great ball. Theodor Hjelmeland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steffen Pilskog in the 36th minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Geir Rolfsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aal Blackhawks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geir Rolfsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute Steffen Pilskog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theodor Hjelmeland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carl-Rune Kjeldsen charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carl-Rune Kjeldsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rosenborg United getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Carl-Rune Kjeldsen hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Aal Blackhawks's Steffen Pilskog sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Theodor Hjelmeland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Steffen Pilskog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steffen Pilskog in the 48th minute of play forced Rosenborg United's goalkeeper Theodor Hjelmeland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Aal Blackhawks's Hans-Martin Storebø shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 52nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Theodor Hjelmeland but with some difficulty. 53 minutes into the match, Rosenborg United's goalkeeper Theodor Hjelmeland had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steffen Pilskog. In the 54th match minute, Rosenborg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl-Rune Kjeldsen to maneuver through the defense. Geir Rolfsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Theodor Hjelmeland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steffen Pilskog recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Steffen Pilskog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theodor Hjelmeland having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steffen Pilskog in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Theodor Hjelmeland prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Geir Rolfsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fridtjof Kirkhus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Carlsson in the 65th minute of play. Theodor Hjelmeland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geir Rolfsen in the 68th minute of play. When Aal Blackhawks's Steffen Pilskog in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rosenborg United's goalie prevented a goal. Steffen Pilskog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Theodor Hjelmeland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steffen Pilskog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fridtjof Kirkhus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Carlsson in the 79th minute of play. Fridtjof Kirkhus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Carlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Rosenborg United's Theodor Hjelmeland got control of the ball when Geir Rolfsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christer Bashir in the 84th minute of play forced Rosenborg United's goalkeeper Theodor Hjelmeland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theodor Hjelmeland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steffen Pilskog's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Theodor Hjelmeland made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Joel Hök sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, Aal Blackhawks's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Carlsson came free, but Fridtjof Kirkhus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Steffen Pilskog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th match minute, Rosenborg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl-Rune Kjeldsen to maneuver through the defense. Steffen Pilskog's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theodor Hjelmeland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Many of Aal Blackhawks's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Aal Blackhawks may have spent more time on the ball, but Rosenborg United were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
