Hans Mæhre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hans Mæhre in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frode Lundgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trym Skjevik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Christian Finsrud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Liggunderlaget was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Kvam to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Hans Mæhre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frode Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans Mæhre might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frode Lundgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hans Mæhre ran back to his position shaking his head. Hans Mæhre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frode Lundgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 38th minute Hans Mæhre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frode Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Hans Mæhre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sauane's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Mæhre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frode Lundgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 51stth minute of the game Hans Mæhre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liggunderlaget's Frode Lundgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Frode Heggem came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Sauane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frode Heggem couldn't finish the play. Hans Mæhre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frode Lundgren having to make a save. Sauane's Christian Finsrud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Log in the 65th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Sauane got a freekick which was hit by Endre Undheim. Hans Mæhre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liggunderlaget's goalkeeper Frode Lundgren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hans Mæhre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frode Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frode Heggem in the 80th minute of play. Sauane's Hans Mæhre got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mats Moldestad's late challenge caught a Sauane's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mats Moldestad helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Liggunderlaget fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! Hans Mæhre struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Frode Lundgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sauane. Frode Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Mæhre in the 93rd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Liggunderlaget players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sauane.
