If Thomas Dybdahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Asbjørn Hammerø managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steinsbø BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Asbjørn Hammerø was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simen Rosland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Freste FF's zone, Asbjørn Hammerø stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simen Rosland came out of the goal and Asbjørn Hammerø tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute Thomas Dybdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simen Rosland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sture Erichsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Dybdahl in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simen Rosland saved Freste FF from getting behind. Sture Erichsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Lars-Olav Øvergaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Stokland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Steinsbø BF's Ragnar Digre dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Thomas Dybdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Lars-Olav Øvergaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Kristian Stokland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Andreas Myrstad fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steinsbø BF's protests and gave Andreas Myrstad a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Steinsbø BF getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Andreas Myrstad hit a great ball. Sture Erichsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Stokland having to interfere. Simen Rosland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asbjørn Hammerø in the 58th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Asbjørn Hammerø notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Freste FF's Simen Rosland. Simen Rosland was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ragnar Digre's late challenge caught a Freste FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ragnar Digre helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Steinsbø BF's Ragnar Digre got a free kick in the 70th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Steinsbø BF's goal looked a bit too open when Sture Erichsen came free, but Kristian Stokland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lars-Olav Øvergaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Dybdahl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simen Rosland having to make a save. Dag Løkkeberg hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Marius Kjerstad charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marius Kjerstad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
