The supporters of RIVER CITY booed when FBK Spurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christer Kristoffersen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Espen Buene in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tore Hammer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 4 minutes into the game, Alexander Rodal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FBK Spurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RIVER CITY the free kick. In the 4th match minute, FBK Spurs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Rodal to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Ole-Gunnar Hegdal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tore Hammer. FBK Spurs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ole-Gunnar Hegdal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 10th minute, Gaute Aarseth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 11 played minutes, RIVER CITY's Henrik Folkvord shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tore Hammer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RIVER CITY reached it. After 11 minutes, Georg Lindseth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FBK Spurs and the RIVER CITY players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tore Hammer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Folkvord, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, RIVER CITY's Henrik Folkvord sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tore Hammer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 17th play minutes Espen Buene shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Tore Hammer and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 22nd minute Ole-Gunnar Hegdal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tore Hammer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, RIVER CITY's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Frantzen came free, but Max Thomassen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 played minutes FBK Spurs got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Rodal. 27 minutes into the game, RIVER CITY's Espen Buene nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tore Hammer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 39th minute, Henrik Folkvord made a precise shot to the right of Tore Hammer. FBK Spurs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. If Espen Buene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tore Hammer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henrik Folkvord went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrian Frantzen was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, FBK Spurs's Tore Hammer got control of the ball when Petter Woldseth tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Espen Buene in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tore Hammer saved FBK Spurs from getting behind. RIVER CITY's Ole-Gunnar Hegdal got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute Espen Buene shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tore Hammer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tore Hammer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Espen Buene went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. RIVER CITY's Henrik Folkvord got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, FBK Spurs's Tore Hammer got control of the ball when Henrik Folkvord tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Espen Buene in the 72nd minute of play forced FBK Spurs's goalkeeper Tore Hammer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, FBK Spurs's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Henrik Folkvord fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 78 minutes into the match, FBK Spurs's goalkeeper Tore Hammer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrik Folkvord. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind FBK Spurs's goalkeeper Tore Hammer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tore Hammer was a little too slow when Espen Buene got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-9. A collision led to RIVER CITY getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Thomas Odland hit a great ball. Alexander Rodal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Henrik Folkvord had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes FBK Spurs got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Tornes. The FBK Spurs fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. RIVER CITY were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
