The audience was convinced that Carl Nyheim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Karlsen was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Carl Nyheim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Karlsen having to interfere. Mats Eie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jon Karlsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oplö's William Bratberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ken Skadberg in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Skadberg in the 23rd minute of play forced Oplö's goalkeeper William Bratberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th match minute, Oplö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cai Salomonsen to maneuver through the defense. After 27 minutes Oplö's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Markus Fjeldstad who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Tönsberg Brùgge's corner Markus Fjeldstad fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and William Bratberg quite easily take care of the ball. In the 41st minute, one of Tönsberg Brùgge:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tönsberg Brùgge. In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Oplö. Robert Birkelund stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jon Karlsen. 0-2. The supporters of Tönsberg Brùgge booed when Oplö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bendik Åsland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trym Buan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carl Nyheim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Trym Buan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mats Eie was extremely unlucky when he, in the 58th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Trym Buan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. William Bratberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trym Buan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ken Skadberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Bratberg having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Oplö's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Skadberg came free, but William Bratberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 minutes, Cai Salomonsen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oplö and the Tönsberg Brùgge players grew even worse after the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mats Eie couldn't finish the play. In the 86th match minute, Tönsberg Brùgge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Mehus to maneuver through the defense. Mats Eie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oplö's Bjørnar Lausund got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trym Buan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jon Karlsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Nyheim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Oplö had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
