Spectators: 8457 (Terracing: 6344, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 169) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jon-Egil Nerhus kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the game, Viva La Vestby's Jim Andresen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik Dalheim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 6 played minutes Viva La Vestby got a freekick which was hit by Mats Brunstad. 12 minutes into the match, MCFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Frogner came free, but Erik Dalheim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erik Dalheim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Frogner in the 17th minute of play. Jon-Egil Nerhus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Eric Langen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kristian Omland hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Christer Søyland fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MCFC's protests and gave Christer Søyland a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Viva La Vestby booed when MCFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christer Søyland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Dalheim was a little too slow when Alexander Ullestad got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 3-1. If Petter Saue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Hans Frogner made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Viva La Vestby's zone, Thorbjørn Singstad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Morten Ørmen came out of the goal and Thorbjørn Singstad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Morten Ørmen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Langen in the 56th minute. Jon-Egil Nerhus struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Morten Ørmen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MCFC. Morten Ørmen made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Eric Langen sent off a good shot on target. Espen Hestad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Langen in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Morten Ørmen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Viva La Vestby's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eric Langen was slow to take the kick. During this time MCFC's players had a chance to rest. Morten Ørmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon-Egil Nerhus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viva La Vestby's Morten Ørmen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Viva La Vestby from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Viva La Vestby getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Petter Saue hit a great ball. With a little luck, Viva La Vestby's Morten Ørmen got control of the ball when Arild Markussen tried to sneak it across the goal line. MCFC's Erik Dalheim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Frogner in the 96th minute of play.
