The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Elco Zwart kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bertus Zuidema. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Molkwerum's Sander Elders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Brunt in the 6th minute of play. Bertus Zuidema didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elco Zwart went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 10 minutes into the game, Molkwerum's Elco Zwart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bertus Zuidema made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a rather tough play, Deest S.C.'s Anthony Daems got a free kick in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Deest S.C.'s goalkeeper Bertus Zuidema had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elco Zwart. If Erik Hindriks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes in the game Jhon Meijering did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Erik Hindriks. In the 24th minute Erik Hindriks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertus Zuidema saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deest S.C.'s Rolf de Gooijer got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, Anthony Daems hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Elco Zwart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Jan Brunt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deest S.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 41 played minutes Deest S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jordi Diggele. Deest S.C.'s Bertus Zuidema proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Deest S.C. from getting a goal against them. After 47 minutes of play, Deest S.C.'s Werner Smits made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sander Elders was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The supporters of Deest S.C. booed when Molkwerum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elco Zwart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Reintjes hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Deest S.C.'s Bertus Zuidema played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elco Zwart in the 68th minute of play. Sander Elders made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Brunt in the 69th minute. Bertus Zuidema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elco Zwart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bertus Zuidema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elco Zwart in the 75th minute of the match. Bertus Zuidema showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Hindriks, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 76 played minutes Deest S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Serge Schuttrup. After 84 played minutes Deest S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rolf de Gooijer. Robert-Jan Cramer kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Molkwerum's Sander Elders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Brunt in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to Molkwerum getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jef Heulmann hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Werner Smits in the 96th minute of play forced Molkwerum's goalkeeper Sander Elders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karsten Robben hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
