With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Hulsebos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stamatis Pegiadis in the 5th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathias de Ruijter in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Hulsebos saved FC Real Leonana from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Casper Hulsebos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. FC Real Leonana's Casper Hulsebos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike van Zeijl in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Júlio Gentil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kurt Ginneken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Casper Hulsebos made a huge save. De Pelgrims were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after FC Real Leonana's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fu Peng Feng took the corner. De Pelgrims's Mathias de Ruijter got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 23 minutes, Roy de Boer made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, De Pelgrims's Casper Hulsebos threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mike van Zeijl, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Stamatis Pegiadis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mike Zoetmulder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Mike Zoetmulder was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the FC Real Leonana defense, Mike van Zeijl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Hulsebos. The FC Real Leonana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casper Hulsebos should have stopped the shot. In the 96thth minute of the game Mathias de Ruijter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Real Leonana's Casper Hulsebos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Real Leonana had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
