The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Herbert Bajo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Trampi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cospicua Youngsters the free kick. After 4 played minutes, Cospicua Youngsters's Rosario Grixti shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kyle Jaccarini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cospicua Youngsters reached it. Cospicua Youngsters's Jesred Titley got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cedric Restall kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. AC Trampi's Kyle Jaccarini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesred Titley in the 9th minute of play. Franco Axiak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonathan Refalo in the 11th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paul Lowell during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AC Trampi! 26 minutes into the match, Cospicua Youngsters's Jesred Titley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kyle Jaccarini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Refalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franco Axiak having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Andrew Captur left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cospicua Youngsters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 39 minutes into the match, AC Trampi's goal looked a bit too open when Jesred Titley came free, but Kyle Jaccarini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Andrew Captur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cospicua Youngsters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew Captur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jesred Titley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Kyle Jaccarini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes of play AC Trampi's Herbert Bajo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Herbert Bajo kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jesred Titley to make the kick off. After 55 minutes, Victor Attard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cospicua Youngsters and the AC Trampi players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Andrew Captur came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Cospicua Youngsters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrew Captur couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the game, Salvatore Bondin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Trampi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cospicua Youngsters the free kick. In the 77th match minute, AC Trampi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvatore Bondin to maneuver through the defense. Jesred Titley hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, AC Trampi's goal looked a bit too open when Jesred Titley came free, but Kyle Jaccarini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Cospicua Youngsters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cedric Restall to maneuver through the defense. AC Trampi's Paul Lowell couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cospicua Youngsters. When Cedric Restall fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cospicua Youngsters's protests and gave Cedric Restall a yellow card for diving instead. Cospicua Youngsters's Andrew Captur got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Cospicua Youngsters's Kyle Jaccarini threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jesred Titley, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cospicua Youngsters's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
