Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ben De Carlo took the kick off in the first half of the match. Philip Ellul Bonici received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Peter Failla came out and tried to block the shot, but Philip Ellul Bonici slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Matteo Gonzi in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Peter Failla, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 12 minutes into the game, Marsa F.C.'s Ben De Carlo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luigi Montebello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 15 minutes of play, Marsa F.C.'s Ben De Carlo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luigi Montebello was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ben De Carlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Gary Xuereb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paola Chelsea fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marsa F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Marsa F.C.'s Kurt Storace got a free kick in the 29th minute. Matteo Gonzis short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Peter Failla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 34th minute Peter Decelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luigi Montebello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Paola Chelsea fc's goal looked a bit too open when Ben De Carlo came free, but Luigi Montebello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ben De Carlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luigi Montebello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben De Carlo in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Ben De Carlo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marsa F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ben De Carlo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luigi Montebello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kurt Storace sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luigi Montebello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben De Carlo in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Marsa F.C. were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Paola Chelsea fc's zone, Ben De Carlo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luigi Montebello came out of the goal and Ben De Carlo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ben De Carlo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luigi Montebello having to make a save. A collision led to Paola Chelsea fc getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Daniele Gruppetta hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Ben De Carlo put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Luigi Montebello. Marsa F.C.'s Ben De Carlo got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ben De Carlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Joseph Sant Manduca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Paola Chelsea fc getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Daniele Gruppetta hit a great ball. If Ben De Carlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Kurt Storace got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ben De Carlo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luigi Montebello. That made the score 1-4 in the 83 minute of play. Peter Failla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matteo Gonzi in the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Kurt Storace hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
