Balzan Youths's Stephan Depasquale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniele Carbonaro in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Degiorgio in the 10th minute of play forced Balzan Youths's goalkeeper Stephan Depasquale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl Asciak's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Owen Bruno skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 16 minutes into the match, Red Redemption's goal looked a bit too open when Ričards Tālums came free, but Owen Bruno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl Asciak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Owen Bruno having to make a save. Ričards Tālums fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Bruno having to interfere. When Karl Asciak, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 31 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Owen Bruno was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Karl Seracino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red Redemption's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Balzan Youths the free kick. With a little luck, Red Redemption's Owen Bruno got control of the ball when Karl Asciak tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 42 minutes of play, Balzan Youths's Ričards Tālums made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniele Carbonaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Karl Asciak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ričards Tālums had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Balzan Youths booed when Red Redemption was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Seracino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Red Redemption's zone, Karl Asciak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Owen Bruno came out of the goal and Karl Asciak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl Asciak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Owen Bruno having to make a save. The supporters of Balzan Youths booed when Red Redemption was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Carbonaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Ričards Tālums notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Red Redemption's Owen Bruno. Owen Bruno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79thth minute of the game Karl Asciak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red Redemption's Owen Bruno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Red Redemption's Jacob Degiorgio got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 83 minutes, Karl Asciak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balzan Youths's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Asciak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stephan Depasquale made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Jacob Degiorgio sent off a good shot on target. Ričards Tālums struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Owen Bruno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balzan Youths. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Balzan Youths fully deserved thier win.
