To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dávid Forgács fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Astra's protests and gave Dávid Forgács a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Astra getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Dávid Forgács hit a great ball. Rajmund Irmai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gedeon Veres having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Gyõr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sándor Zádori to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Gábor Vígh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gedeon Veres was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 34th minute, Gábor Vígh fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gedeon Veres, passed just outside the right post. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gyula Kis made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gábor Vígh in the 52nd minute of play forced Gyõr's goalkeeper Gedeon Veres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Astra booed when Gyõr was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Nemes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Astra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Kornél Sarkady made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Gyula Kis sent off a good shot on target. Simon Kósa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Kornél Sarkady made a huge save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gyula Kis couldn't finish the play.
