Seating: 1808, VIP seats: 157) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Károly Pál-Szabó kicked off to start the match. György Sárkány received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Roland Pálffy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Illés Vörös sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Steel Tigers's Péter Lakatos got a free kick in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attila Szőlősi in the 11th minute of play forced Steel Tigers's goalkeeper Alfonz Kolompár to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Attila Szőlősi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kánya's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attila Szőlősi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute, Péter Lakatos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Steel Tigers's György Sárkány in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kánya's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute, Steel Tigers's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Attila Szőlősi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Illés Vörös had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 28 in the game by Krisztián Pálinkás from a close distance when the talented Alfonz Kolompár managed to make a qualified save. Steel Tigers's players were relieved. Roland Pálffy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Péter Lakatos in the 33rd minute of the match. Roland Pálffy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from György Sárkány, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roland Pálffy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Péter Lakatos in the 39th minute of play. György Sárkány might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roland Pálffy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. György Sárkány ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th match minute, Steel Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Péter Lakatos to maneuver through the defense. Kánya's Máté Csordás got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Steel Tigers's goalkeeper Alfonz Kolompár, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell György Sárkány to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Péter Lakatos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roland Pálffy. Péter Lakatos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Roland Pálffy made an important save on a dangerous shot by György Sárkány in the 61st minute. György Sárkány sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If György Sárkány had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Steel Tigers's goalkeeper Alfonz Kolompár, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kánya's Roland Pálffy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Kánya from getting a goal against them. György Sárkány struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Roland Pálffy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steel Tigers. The audience thought a goal was coming when György Sárkány got free with Roland Pálffy in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th match minute, Kánya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krisztián Pálinkás to maneuver through the defense. Roland Pálffy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from György Sárkány, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 91st minute Károly Pál-Szabó shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonz Kolompár saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Kánya fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Steel Tigers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
