Codruț Domuță took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vencel Mezei. Vencel Mezei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attila Veres in the 7th minute of play forced Pénzügyőr SE's goalkeeper Vencel Mezei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Yeovil's Codruț Domuță in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pénzügyőr SE's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Codruț Domuță in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vencel Mezei saved Pénzügyőr SE from getting behind. When Yeovil's Codruț Domuță in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pénzügyőr SE's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Codruț Domuță sped through Pénzügyőr SE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vencel Mezei. The Yeovil fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Yeovil's Codruț Domuță looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Codruț Domuță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Codruț Domuță's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vencel Mezei was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Codruț Domuță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Vencel Mezei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Attila Veres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Codruț Domuță in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vencel Mezei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Yeovil made a substitution. Miklós Szakács replaced Attila Veres. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Codruț Domuță stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Pénzügyőr SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erben Kiewit to maneuver through the defense. Vencel Mezei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codruț Domuță in the 54th minute of play. Vencel Mezei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miklós Szakács, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 61 minutes into the game, one of Pénzügyőr SE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vencel Mezei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Codruț Domuță went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Codruț Domuță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Pénzügyőr SE's goalkeeper Vencel Mezei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Márk Kántor. Viktor Szaniszló hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Anastasio Jurdan hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Codruț Domuță reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vencel Mezei. The goal made the score 0-6. Pénzügyőr SE's Vencel Mezei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Pénzügyőr SE from getting a goal against them. If Codruț Domuță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th match minute, Pénzügyőr SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Albäck to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute Miklós Szakács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vencel Mezei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, József Pucheli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Miklós Szakács ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vencel Mezei was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Yeovil played a much better game than Pénzügyőr SE and deserved their victory. The Pénzügyőr SE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
