The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Csabagyöngye got a freekick which was hit by János Kovács. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute of the match Szombathely Squirrels got a corner. Csabagyöngye's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bai Jun Chong ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rich Durbridge struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Arnold Szuper didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Csabagyöngye. Tivadar Demeter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Péter Mészáros having to make a save. Csabagyöngye's Péter Mészáros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 15th minute of play. Tivadar Demeter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Michel Goiano. In the 22nd minute Tivadar Demeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Mészáros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Csabagyöngye's Gyula Németh got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Tivadar Demeter kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Péter Mészáros. That made the score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. Csabagyöngye's Péter Mészáros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Csabagyöngye from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute Tivadar Demeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Mészáros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Dávid Hegyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Szombathely Squirrels made a substitution. Lukas Arlikevičius replaced Luciano Aued. After 49 played minutes Csabagyöngye got a freekick which was hit by Dávid Hegyi. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gergely Dobi to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Szombathely Squirrels's Tivadar Demeter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Péter Mészáros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Szombathely Squirrels's Lei Jian Xiong was substituted for Tivadar Demeter. In the 62nd minute Csabagyöngye were awarded a corner. János Kovács went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amanda Almqvist in the 71st minute of play forced Csabagyöngye's goalkeeper Péter Mészáros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lei Jian Xiong might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Péter Mészáros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lei Jian Xiong ran back to his position shaking his head. Péter Mészáros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lei Jian Xiong went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Csabagyöngye made a substitution. Gábor Jósa replaced Gergely Dobi. In the 82nd match minute, Szombathely Squirrels was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bai Jun Chong to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Lei Jian Xiong left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Szombathely Squirrels fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After 93 minutes, Dávid Hegyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Csabagyöngye and the Szombathely Squirrels players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when Csabagyöngye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dávid Hegyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Szombathely Squirrels fans cheered their team off the field, for while Csabagyöngye had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
