The NK Dubrava Zagreb fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when NK Dubrava Zagreb's Kazimir Pendo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Andrej Palković might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kent Klint. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After some careless play in the Povratnici defense, Kazimir Pendo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Višeslav Berend. The Povratnici fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Višeslav Berend should have stopped the shot. With his leg Višeslav Berend managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when NK Dubrava Zagreb's Kazimir Pendo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Povratnici's Rueben Hughes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tage Myrholm in the 43 minute of the game. NK Dubrava Zagreb's Kent Klint played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Matošin in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Povratnici players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
