The audience thought a goal was coming when Luka Mata got free with Francisco Barrionuevo in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Jastreb's Börje Forsberg in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lipovljani's goalie prevented a goal. A sloppy throw-in by Sixto Figueroa in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lipovljani's Rio Mata. Francisco Barrionuevo came out and tried to block the shot, but Börje Forsberg slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duško Zambata got free with Francisco Barrionuevo in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 32 minutes into the match, Lipovljani's goalkeeper Francisco Barrionuevo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duško Zambata. Navarro Montoya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domagoj Grković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute, Domagoj Grković made a precise shot to the right of Navarro Montoya. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Jastreb made a substitution. Miran Tudor replaced Ilko Smoje. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domagoj Grković to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Lipovljani's goal looked a bit too open when Luka Mata came free, but Francisco Barrionuevo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute Luka Mata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Barrionuevo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tonko Urban in the 59th minute of play forced Jastreb's goalkeeper Navarro Montoya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Börje Forsberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Barrionuevo was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Francisco Barrionuevo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duško Zambata, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Imants Blasāns made in the 87th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lipovljani's Tonko Petrlin. Francisco Barrionuevo came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Jastreb's Bo Cantona. But to his dismay, Bo Cantona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bo Cantona in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Barrionuevo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lipovljani's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
