The audience thought a goal was coming when Léon Monnet got free with Stanko Ederov in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roazhon Breizh FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Romeo Gleizes ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Alfred Valton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Léon Monnet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Hélio Secco threw the ball into play from the sideline. But to his dismay, Antonin Dagorne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.
