Dionisio Hidalgo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Quentin Gonzalez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Onofre Mala. That made the score 3-0 in the 14 minute of play. Onofre Mala made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Quentin Gonzalez sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the game, Atlético Maravilla's Quentin Gonzalez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Onofre Mala made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Onofre Mala was a little too slow when Quentin Gonzalez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 6-0. The Atlético Maravilla fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Atlético Maravilla's Xabat Portillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Onofre Mala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quentin Gonzalez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Onofre Mala managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Atlético Maravilla's Quentin Gonzalez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Villafane hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After 46 minutes Ínter Rías FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Benjamin Ross who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ínter Rías FC's goalie and right to Elano Terra. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quentin Gonzalez was the one to do the kick off. Dionisio Hidalgo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onofre Mala having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Ínter Rías FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Hidalgo came free, but Onofre Mala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Quentin Gonzalez sped through Ínter Rías FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Onofre Mala. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dionisio Hidalgo in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Onofre Mala saved Ínter Rías FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Quentin Gonzalez put it in 10-0 from a short distance just to the right of Onofre Mala. The supporters of Atlético Maravilla booed when Ínter Rías FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fero Canosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Quentin Gonzalez made a precise shot to the right of Onofre Mala. Ínter Rías FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 16-0. There was no doubt that Atlético Maravilla were the better team. Atlético Maravilla's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
