Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopoldo Manta in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Poncio Abellan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Echavarri in the 33rd minute of play forced Senatus Populus Que Roman's goalkeeper Poncio Abellan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 70 played minutes Senatus Populus Que Roman got a freekick which was hit by Mastur Bassi. After 74 minutes, Noel Travassos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orihuela Club de Fútbol and the Senatus Populus Que Roman players grew even worse after the yellow card. Noel Travassos hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. The corner led Senatus Populus Que Roman's Octave Soetemans to fire away a dangerous shot which Ermegildo Pasqual despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Desiderio Perutxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Poncio Abellan having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Senatus Populus Que Roman walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
