The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jairo Castellano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iñigo Pedrosa in the 3rd minute of play. León FC's Currito Torrente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Curcio Carballeira in the 5th minute of play. Galsino Barba might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Castellano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Galsino Barba ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Jairo Castellano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 10 minutes into the game, Curcio Carballeira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Currito Torrente was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Galsino Barba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Jairo Castellano made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Galsino Barba managed to get in a good position for a shot. León FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Galsino Barba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Castellano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Club Getafe Deportivo's Curcio Carballeira got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute Sergio Odín shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Castellano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Curcio Carballeira to strike the kick off in the second half. León FC made a substitution. Martino Escurza replaced Romulo Jaen. After a rather tough play, Club Getafe Deportivo's Laurgain Lama got a free kick in the 63rd minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Espiridion Manrique advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-1 in the 92nd minute.
