Ricky Wiggers did an outstanding performance 25 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-0 to the right of an irritated Tage Ellerod in the goal. In the 32nd minute Gunther Krenk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nickolai Faarbæk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Artur Charlottendahl was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hudevad AC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Odense Boldklub the free kick. Tage Ellerod breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ian Warin was the one to do the kick off. Odense Boldklub's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artur Charlottendahl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Odense Boldklub could leave the field as winners, despite Hudevad AC having more of the ball for most of the match.
