Jonny Mantel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Axelfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Ruddi Friese hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eilif Rosholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. A collision led to Odense Boldklub getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Peter Hammerslev hit a great ball. The long shot by Ian Axelfeldt in the 28th minute really tested Jonny Mantel's skills. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in AB Tårnby's zone, Herbert Barmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenn Fronval came out of the goal and Herbert Barmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herbert Barmer shot from long distance after 88 played minutes, a shot that Kenn Fronval with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. Eilif Rosholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Kenn Fronval tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gunner Frølunde's late challenge caught a AB Tårnby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gunner Frølunde helped the player get up and apologised. The Odense Boldklub players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
