The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fritz Grauholt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Egernføde Boldklub's Bjørn Martensen got a free kick in the 9th minute. Vilfred Degener showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fritz Grauholt, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Egernføde Boldklub's goalkeeper Vilfred Degener had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lavrits Liljehult. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Birger Strømvad in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerhart Krainert saved Sletteenge from getting behind. In the 24th minute Ferdinand Rosenvad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerhart Krainert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lavrits Liljehult could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vilfred Degener made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lavrits Liljehult in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vilfred Degener prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 27 minutes into the match, Ferdinand Rosenvad had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerhart Krainert. Sletteenge's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferdinand Rosenvad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ferdinand Rosenvad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vilfred Degener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fritz Grauholt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birger Strømvad in the 34th minute of play forced Sletteenge's goalkeeper Gerhart Krainert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Birger Strømvad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerhart Krainert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fritz Grauholt struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Vilfred Degener didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sletteenge. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Vilfred Degener successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 42 played minutes Egernføde Boldklub got a freekick which was hit by Kenney Wilhelm. In the 43rdth minute of the game Fritz Grauholt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Egernføde Boldklub's Vilfred Degener was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vilfred Degener showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fritz Grauholt, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Vilfred Degener came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Sletteenge's Fritz Grauholt. But to his dismay, Fritz Grauholt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Birger Strømvad to make the kick off. Sletteenge made a substitution. Wagn Nytoft replaced Ted Weye. Egernføde Boldklub's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bjørn Martensen in the 72nd minute. Bjørn Martensen made a great header on Egernføde Boldklub's corner, it was just that Sletteenge's Gerhart Krainert managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Birger Strømvad got free with Gerhart Krainert in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Egernføde Boldklub's Ferdinand Rosenvad got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sletteenge made a substitution. Jacob Lubfeldt replaced Robin Leiholt. Vilfred Degener showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donald Liktensteen, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. If Steen Bjørnsted had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Sletteenge manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Egernføde Boldklub to win.
