The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, FC Wilde Meute's Thomas Werner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zinédine Vitz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pär Erhart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 10 minutes into the game, Joachim Schwarzbäcker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ricky Reiser was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Helmut Breitmacher hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After having played for 17 minutes, Clemens Clauren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Holzmichel 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemens Clauren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute Joachim Schwarzbäcker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricky Reiser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Herwig Neubauer managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Wilde Meute's supporters rose to their feet, but Herwig Neubauer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zinédine Vitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murat Simon in the 25th minute of play forced FC Wilde Meute's goalkeeper Ricky Reiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Herwig Neubauer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Wilde Meute's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Holzmichel 04 the free kick. FC Holzmichel 04 made a substitution. Klaus-Dieter Pamatat replaced Joachim Schwarzbäcker. In the 27th minute, Herwig Neubauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricky Reiser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Teichert in the 28th minute of play. Murat Simon charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Murat Simon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes FC Holzmichel 04 got a freekick which was hit by Murat Simon. In the 33rd minute, Klaus-Dieter Pamatat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 minutes of play, FC Wilde Meute's Thomas Werner made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zinédine Vitz was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Murat Simon in the 40th minute of play forced FC Wilde Meute's goalkeeper Ricky Reiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Wilde Meute's zone, Robert Klute stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricky Reiser came out of the goal and Robert Klute tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clemens Clauren struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Ricky Reiser didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Holzmichel 04. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Clemens Clauren made the kick off in the second half. Ricky Reiser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Murat Simon in the 53rd minute. Zinédine Vitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pär Erhart in the 54th minute of the match. Murat Simon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes FC Wilde Meute got a freekick which was hit by Herwig Neubauer. 60 minutes into the match, Klaus-Dieter Pamatat dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ricky Reiser, 1-2. After having played for 63 minutes, Clemens Clauren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Holzmichel 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemens Clauren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of FC Holzmichel 04:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Wilde Meute:s goal. In the 67th minute there was a penalty for FC Wilde Meute. Meik Eberts stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zinédine Vitz. 2-2. Klaus-Dieter Pamatat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ricky Reiser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, FC Wilde Meute's goal looked a bit too open when Murat Simon came free, but Ricky Reiser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Clemens Clauren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Herwig Neubauer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 85 played minutes FC Holzmichel 04 got a freekick which was hit by Clemens Clauren. Murat Simon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ricky Reiser made a huge save. Murat Simon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ricky Reiser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wilde Meute's goalkeeper Ricky Reiser, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 94 minutes in the game, Klaus-Dieter Pamatat fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ricky Reiser having to interfere. If Clemens Clauren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Holzmichel 04 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
