After 3 played minutes Faru CTA got a freekick which was hit by Dieter Ludwig. Lars Schnoor charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lars Schnoor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes FC Hawaii got a freekick which was hit by Lars Schnoor. In the 12thth minute of the game Olaf Höfer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Hawaii's Horst Dürr was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulus Fechner in the 17th minute of play forced Faru CTA's goalkeeper Karl Eberts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horst Dürr didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olaf Höfer went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Faru CTA's Werner Derix got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nikolaus Cayrol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Hawaii's Horst Dürr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Gerwen in the 40th minute of play. Horst Dürr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olaf Höfer in the 41st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olaf Höfer in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horst Dürr saved FC Hawaii from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Nikolaus Cayrol managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Hawaii's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikolaus Cayrol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl Eberts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barry Gerwen struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Horst Dürr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faru CTA.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Werner Korff made a kick off. With his leg Horst Dürr managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Faru CTA's Olaf Höfer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Faru CTA's zone, Paulus Fechner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl Eberts came out of the goal and Paulus Fechner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Werner Korff struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Karl Eberts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Hawaii. Werner Korff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Eberts having to interfere. Faru CTA's Barry Gerwen got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Karl Eberts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronald Sieger went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Faru CTA's Karl Eberts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulus Fechner in the 80th minute of play. If Nikolaus Cayrol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Eberts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulus Fechner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Faru CTA's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Sieger came free, but Karl Eberts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Werner Derix during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Werner Derix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see FC Hawaii lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
