The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Guido Schiller got the match started through his kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bartholomäus Brink during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Eintracht Frankfurt getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Bartholomäus Brink hit a great ball. Peter Hensel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gideon Baltermanns. Eintracht Frankfurt's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 6 minutes, Marc Becker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. APK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Becker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th match minute, APK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Scherf to maneuver through the defense.
