Timo Courtois didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Balus Treter's Jacob van der Werff shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After 31 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Lukas Prielhofer. If Alberigo Sessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. In the 37thth minute of the game Jacob van der Werff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Milenko Ermentraut threw the ball into play from the sideline. SSV Ulm 1846's Everardo Hartz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tunç Akkaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karsten Zielinski having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob van der Werff in the 70th minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as SSV Ulm 1846's Tunç Akkaya slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karsten Zielinski. That made the score 3-2 after 71 minutes of play. SSV Ulm 1846 were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Balus Treter's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sven-Olof Lilja took the corner. SSV Ulm 1846's Sven-Olof Lilja was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Karsten Zielinski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Karsten Zielinski was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Alberigo Sessa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alberigo Sessa really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tunç Akkaya in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karsten Zielinski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karsten Zielinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tunç Akkaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
