After having played for 9 minutes, Wilhelm Nienhaus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hertha 1969's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilhelm Nienhaus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heinz-Gerd Bonin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilhelm Nienhaus's shot from short distance in the 12th minute.
