Christopher Reimann made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Delmiro Jayvier sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the game, Stephane Bosch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSV Ulm 1846's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VfL Bad Nenndorf the free kick. A collision led to SSV Ulm 1846 getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Stephane Bosch hit a great ball. In the 11th minute of the match VfL Bad Nenndorf got a corner. SSV Ulm 1846's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zsolt Székely ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led VfL Bad Nenndorf's Zsolt Székely to fire away a dangerous shot which Timo Courtois despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Róbert Štriker came free, but Timo Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timo Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Themis Papadimoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Themis Papadimoulis in the 41st minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 minutes of play SSV Ulm 1846's Stephane Bosch was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to SSV Ulm 1846 getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Stephane Bosch hit a great ball. 48 minutes into the game, Themis Papadimoulis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Timo Courtois was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Themis Papadimoulis to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, VfL Bad Nenndorf's Themis Papadimoulis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Timo Courtois made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Baptist Haas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timo Courtois read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Sven-Olof Lilja kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, VfL Bad Nenndorf's Timo Courtois threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Róbert Štriker, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 60th minute, Alberigo Sessa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 66th minute, Róbert Štriker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Timo Courtois was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Themis Papadimoulis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Timo Courtois made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Timo Courtois successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbert Štriker in the 73rd minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Róbert Štriker received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Timo Courtois came out and tried to block the shot, but Róbert Štriker slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 76th minute. Timo Courtois didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Themis Papadimoulis went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Themis Papadimoulis in the 84th minute of play. Timo Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themis Papadimoulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of SSV Ulm 1846 booed when VfL Bad Nenndorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armand Callahan didn't get a good kick on the ball. SSV Ulm 1846's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sven-Olof Lilja in the 88th minute. With a little luck, SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois got control of the ball when Themis Papadimoulis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Themis Papadimoulis took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Timo Courtois. Timo Courtois dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. The crowd rose to their feet as Róbert Štriker kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Timo Courtois. That made the score 1-7 in the 98 minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. VfL Bad Nenndorf had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
