After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Ladislav Gabčo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Staritsch's supporters rose to their feet, but Ladislav Gabčo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bogdan Czarnecki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute Ladislav Pavlát shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Czarnecki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ondřej Klimek fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Sparta Praha's protests and gave Ondřej Klimek a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The wind increased when Dušan Černík made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Ondřej Klimek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zoltán Nevařil. SK Staritsch's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ondřej Klimek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Åkesson in the 58th minute of play forced SK Staritsch's goalkeeper Zoltán Nevařil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes SK Staritsch's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dušan Černík who took care of the corner kick. AC Sparta Praha's Dušan Černík was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zoltán Nevařil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Karel Hrbáč was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 62nd minute, Milan Hofman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Kolín got free with Zoltán Nevařil in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SK Staritsch's Zoltán Nevařil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dušan Černík in the 66th minute of play. Dušan Černík might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zoltán Nevařil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dušan Černík ran back to his position shaking his head. 73 minutes into the match, SK Staritsch's goal looked a bit too open when Dušan Černík came free, but Zoltán Nevařil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bogdan Czarnecki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislav Pavlát in the 77th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded AC Sparta Praha left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SK Staritsch.
