The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yann Nuessli charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yann Nuessli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd minute, one of Apollo 11:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Apollo 11. In the 4th minute there was a penalty for Kappelen SC. Bernd Schurter stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Beatus Fröhlicher. 0-1. Kappelen SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jon Schneebeli 7 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. After 15 minutes of play, Apollo 11's Gunter Schreider made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giona Schwarz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Gunter Schreider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, Marco von Planta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kappelen SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Apollo 11 the free kick. 29 minutes into the game, one of Kappelen SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mickey Zumsteg placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Apollo 11's Gunter Schreider got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Kappelen SC's zone, Jon Schneebeli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giona Schwarz came out of the goal and Jon Schneebeli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Mathieu Hellmüller came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Apollo 11 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathieu Hellmüller couldn't finish the play. After 43rd play minutes Gunter Schreider shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Giona Schwarz and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Kappelen SC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Ricky Beller hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diego Aberle made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, Kappelen SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Ehrenbolger to maneuver through the defense. Apollo 11's Gunter Schreider got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Herald Lucchesi notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Kappelen SC's Giona Schwarz. Giona Schwarz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gunter Schreider recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 82 minutes of play, Apollo 11's Jon Schneebeli made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giona Schwarz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 90 minutes into the match, Kappelen SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gunter Schreider came free, but Giona Schwarz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Kappelen SC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Amadeus Schmidt hit a great ball. Kappelen SC's Giona Schwarz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Schneebeli in the 96th minute of play. Jon Schneebeli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Giona Schwarz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Apollo 11 were the better team. Apollo 11's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
