Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Quentin Amstad started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Alwin Dubler came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by ZION AC's Gabriel Meier. But to his dismay, Gabriel Meier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemens Albiez got free with Ur Sal in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 13 played minutes SL Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Clemens Albiez. Manuel Frey kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind ZION AC's goalkeeper Ur Sal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Gabriel Meier came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the ZION AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Meier couldn't finish the play. Ur Sal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemens Albiez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th match minute, ZION AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remy Despland to maneuver through the defense. Serge Jenny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ur Sal having to interfere. After 29 minutes, Serge Jenny mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SL Benfica and the ZION AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, SL Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serge Jenny to maneuver through the defense. In the 32ndth minute of the game Quentin Amstad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SL Benfica's Alwin Dubler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute, SL Benfica's Raffaele Conti ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ur Sal. Ur Sal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. If Gabriel Meier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Remy Despland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clemens Albiez to strike the kick off in the second half. When SL Benfica's Clemens Albiez in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ZION AC's goalie prevented a goal. Ur Sal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemens Albiez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Clemens Albiez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ur Sal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Quentin Amstad got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 75 played minutes ZION AC got a freekick which was hit by Kenan Brandt. Ur Sal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raffaele Conti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Meier was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. ZION AC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 83 played minutes SL Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Fergus Wolf. 84 minutes into the game, Nicola Léveillé was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SL Benfica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZION AC the free kick. ZION AC made a substitution. Philippe Hengemühl replaced Roland Korner. After 89 minutes, Quentin Amstad made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. SL Benfica's Alwin Dubler tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, ZION AC's Kenan Brandt got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Nicola Léveillé struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ur Sal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SL Benfica.
