The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aaron Kappel might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franziskus Fugère. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tudor Caragea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Franziskus Fugère when he managed to save the team from getting behind. FC Werdenberg were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after NEWELLS SWISS BOYS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Simon Gunnarsson took the corner. Franziskus Fugère was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The corner ended in Volker Unger almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but NEWELLS SWISS BOYS's Franziskus Fugère did a great save. After 95 played minutes FC Werdenberg got a freekick which was hit by Ueli Gantenbein. FC Werdenberg were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
