In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liver Bird's goalkeeper Stig Verlengia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Xu Rong Chao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute of the match, Goran Lindegger sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Iwan Lepucki showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Liver Bird's goal looked a bit too open when Gaudencio Lekubegi came free, but Stig Verlengia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
