In the 14th minute, Gaudencio Lekubegi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LavAzzA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 18 minutes of play, LavAzzA's Gaudencio Lekubegi made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lionel Paly was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29thth minute of the game Téo Rosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LavAzzA's Iwan Lepucki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaudencio Lekubegi took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lionel Paly. Lionel Paly dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in FC Wil 1900's zone, Kuno Kubin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Paly came out of the goal and Kuno Kubin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iwan Lepucki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Téo Rosa in the 40th minute of play. FC Wil 1900's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emilio De Luca in the 42nd minute. The corner led FC Wil 1900's Pirmin Jäggi to fire away a dangerous shot which Iwan Lepucki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lionel Paly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaudencio Lekubegi's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaudencio Lekubegi was the one to do the kick off. The corner ended in Emilio De Luca almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LavAzzA's Iwan Lepucki did a great save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched LavAzzA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
