An unexpectedly hard shot by Nino Schurter in the 7th minute of play forced SalentoUnited's goalkeeper Bunda Grande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute Alain Berset shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bunda Grande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frasier Huber in the 13th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Fabian Honauer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Honauer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frasier Huber, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alain Berset in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bunda Grande saved SalentoUnited from getting behind. The supporters of SalentoUnited booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nino Schurter didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Espen Steelers's Nino Schurter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bunda Grande made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Bunda Grande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Montez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bunda Grande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alain Berset, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Espen Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Frasier Huber came free, but Fabian Honauer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bunda Grande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Montez, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The corner led Espen Steelers's Alberto Giacometti to fire away a dangerous shot which Bunda Grande despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Hotz in the 47th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Fabian Honauer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Espen Steelers were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bunda Grande, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 67 minutes into the game, Alain Berset lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Bunda Grande. Alain Berset spun around in front of the goal 70 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of SalentoUnited's goal. Espen Steelers made a substitution. Stan Wawrinka replaced Nino Schurter. Bunda Grande made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Rogelio Montez sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to SalentoUnited getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Edgar Meier hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Rogelio Montez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bunda Grande was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Edgar Meier scored 1-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabian Honauer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bunda Grande was a little too slow when Rogelio Montez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 1-4. After 87 minutes, Alain Berset made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. SalentoUnited's Bunda Grande tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabian Honauer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pawel Gotfryd in the 93rd minute of play. When Stan Wawrinka came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Espen Steelers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stan Wawrinka couldn't finish the play. Espen Steelers played a much better game than SalentoUnited and deserved their victory. The SalentoUnited players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
