Hassan Schürch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. Téo Rosa struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Fabian Honauer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Wil 1900. Fabian Honauer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tory Pryor in the 11th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Wil 1900 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! FC Wil 1900:s Lionel Paly showed great skill when he stopped Rogelio Montez:s penalty. Rogelio Montez took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lionel Paly. Lionel Paly dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Montez in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lionel Paly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nino Schurter hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Fabian Honauer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pirmin Jäggi in the 26th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Emery Heller. In the 28th minute, Ingo Minder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see FC Wil 1900's Emilio De Luca in action when he in the 30th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! With a little luck, FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly got control of the ball when Rogelio Montez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Williams Imholz's late challenge caught a FC Wil 1900's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Williams Imholz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th match minute, Espen Steelers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Williams Imholz to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Téo Rosa in the 35th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Fabian Honauer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's Bernhard Zollinger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabian Honauer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With 39 minutes on the clock, Roman Josi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Espen Steelers:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Wil 1900:s goal. Fabian Honauer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Pryor, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Emery Heller took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabian Honauer. Fabian Honauer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nino Schurter to strike the kick off in the second half. Espen Steelers's Fabian Honauer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Espen Steelers from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nino Schurter in the 64th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Honauer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Téo Rosa's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, FC Wil 1900's Philipp Santagapita got a free kick in the 74th minute. Espen Steelers's Alain Berset was substituted for Rogelio Montez. Philipp Santagapita kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Fabian Honauer made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Tory Pryor sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Téo Rosa in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabian Honauer saved Espen Steelers from getting behind. FC Wil 1900 were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Espen Steelers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emilio De Luca took the corner. After taking down the ball on FC Wil 1900's corner Emilio De Luca fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fabian Honauer quite easily take care of the ball. Fabian Honauer made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Bernhard Zollinger sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alain Berset in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. A collision led to Espen Steelers getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Calistrat Velicu hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pirmin Jäggi got free with Fabian Honauer in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Espen Steelers booed when FC Wil 1900 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Santagapita didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Nino Schurter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espen Steelers's supporters rose to their feet, but Nino Schurter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lionel Paly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
