Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jurgen Kempenaerts made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Pino Gijselinghs got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 10 played minutes Liedekerke got a freekick which was hit by Stein De Keyser. The supporters of Upigny booed when Liedekerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izak Bekaert didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute of the match Benny Viskens shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wim Streels showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Steffen Nelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Yannis Storms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Liedekerke booed when Upigny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertrand Seveneijnts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wim Streels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jurgen Kempenaerts's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Pino Gijselinghss short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Wim Streels to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Yannis Storms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rocky Van Hespen, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Pino Gijselinghs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pino Gijselinghs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jurgen Kempenaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wim Streels having to interfere. Jurgen Kempenaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Wim Streels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Steffen Nelis to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rocky Van Hespen got free with Yannis Storms in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Liedekerke's Wim Streels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurgen Kempenaerts in the 56th minute of play. Pino Gijselinghs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Wim Streels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Upigny booed when Liedekerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izak Bekaert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liedekerke's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the Liedekerke defense, Pino Gijselinghs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wim Streels. The Liedekerke fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wim Streels should have stopped the shot. Pino Gijselinghs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wim Streels read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Liedekerke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izak Bekaert to maneuver through the defense. Jurgen Kempenaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wim Streels having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Upigny failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
