An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Enfant in the 16th minute of play forced AC Wetteren's goalkeeper Jorge Camps to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Gundekose's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wouter De Keijser in the 20th minute. The corner ended in Wouter De Keijser almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AC Wetteren's Jorge Camps did a great save. If Ludo De Jaeger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Robben Van Caenegem's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robbrecht Coosemans was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Ivan Steenbecks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Robbrecht Coosemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, AC Wetteren's Ivan Steenbecks nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robbrecht Coosemans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robben Van Caenegem made a kick off. The supporters of AC Wetteren booed when FC Gundekose was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charly De Weyngaert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pieter-Maarten Van Der Eyde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute, AC Wetteren's Pieter-Maarten Van Der Eyde ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robbrecht Coosemans. Robbrecht Coosemans yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. After a rather tough play, AC Wetteren's Willy De Kijser got a free kick in the 61st minute. If Robben Van Caenegem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79thth minute of the game Ivan Steenbecks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Gundekose's Robbrecht Coosemans was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 81st play minute Ivan Steenbecks came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Robbrecht Coosemans. 0-3. AC Wetteren's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
