With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry Carpenter in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Terry Godefroid saved Zwartberg Zuid from getting behind. In a very dangerous position, a player in Zwartberg Zuid fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! Timy Smidts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Godefroid having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Zwartberg Zuid's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Carpenter came free, but Terry Godefroid reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zwartberg Zuid's Terry Godefroid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timy Smidts in the 63rd minute of play. After 66 minutes, Henri Borglevens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KAA Pepingen and the Zwartberg Zuid players grew even worse after the yellow card.
