An unexpectedly hard shot by Marnix Laurent in the 2nd minute of play forced Fighters Against Cancer's goalkeeper Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregorie de Nooter kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Tomas Geraerts made a precise shot to the right of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven. Fighters Against Cancer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 15 minutes into the match, Marnix Laurent had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven. Fighters Against Cancer's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marnix Laurent was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Thomas Isemborgh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marnix Laurent struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KVWZ. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Isemborgh in the 22nd minute of play forced Fighters Against Cancer's goalkeeper Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marnix Laurent scored 0-4 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by KVWZ's Marnix Laurent. But to his dismay, Marnix Laurent quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. If Tomas Geraerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marnix Laurent recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorie de Nooter in the 36th minute of the match. Mike Wijnants received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by KVWZ's Marnix Laurent. But to his dismay, Marnix Laurent quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. In the 45th match minute, Fighters Against Cancer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christofere Vandommele to maneuver through the defense. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roni Van der Goten in the 47th minute of the match. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marnix Laurent, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marnix Laurent to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Geraerts in the 53rd minute of play forced Fighters Against Cancer's goalkeeper Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven was a little too slow when Marnix Laurent got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 0-7. If Marnix Laurent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marnix Laurent came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the KVWZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marnix Laurent couldn't finish the play. Marnix Laurent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven having to interfere. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luk Van Campenhout in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fighters Against Cancer's Mattheo Van Leemputt got a free kick in the 81st minute. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Gregorie de Nooter got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ferdinand Deswarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willem Verheijden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Fighters Against Cancer booed when KVWZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard Van hoegaerde didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Fighters Against Cancer's Stanny Tkint broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
