Ronny Stuycken started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Stuycken in the 6th minute of play forced Zantho F.C.'s goalkeeper Dimitry Ceusters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 8th minute by Goffrey Waron got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, VC Fl's Roland Huijbrechts got a free kick in the 16th minute. Bastiaan Sustens acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Raf Van Eijcken. If Goffrey Waron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 20 minutes, Goffrey Waron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zantho F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Goffrey Waron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sean Weets struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Bastiaan Sustens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zantho F.C.. Bastiaan Sustens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Weets, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Giovanni Langendonckx fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VC Fl's protests and gave Giovanni Langendonckx a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes VC Fl got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Langendonckx. Bastiaan Sustens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sean Weets in the 42nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, VC Fl's Christopher Simons got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in VC Fl's zone, Sean Weets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bastiaan Sustens came out of the goal and Sean Weets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sean Weets stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronny Stuycken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitry Ceusters having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Zantho F.C.'s zone, Ief Laureys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dimitry Ceusters came out of the goal and Ief Laureys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute, Zantho F.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Boris Stevens fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Josef Caes hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Sander Bruyninckx sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Zantho F.C.'s Dimitry Ceusters didn't even have to move. 62 minutes into the match, VC Fl's Ief Laureys sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dimitry Ceusters narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sean Weets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Zantho F.C.'s Josef Caes got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Ief Laureys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitry Ceusters having to interfere. Dimitry Ceusters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Stuycken in the 82nd minute of play. Francis Schepens took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bastiaan Sustens. VC Fl's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sean Weets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Ronny Stuycken had to leave the field with a concussion. Joey De Weerdt charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joey De Weerdt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd match minute, Zantho F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joey De Weerdt to maneuver through the defense. If Goffrey Waron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Zantho F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while VC Fl had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
