Matias Paelemans charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matias Paelemans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to De Matoekoes getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Matias Paelemans hit a great ball. The referee ignored De Matoekoes's protests and gave Jacobus Elzen a yellow card for diving instead. Wart Keldermans was a little too slow when Victor Winnepenninck got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarno Vleminx in the 36th minute of play forced De Matoekoes's goalkeeper Wart Keldermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes De Matoekoes got a freekick which was hit by Jacobus Elzen. If Jarno Vleminx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. De Matoekoes's Wart Keldermans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Winnepenninck in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
