After some careless play in the 2860 Linksback defense, Jean Slegers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Van Bouschot. The 2860 Linksback fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Van Bouschot should have stopped the shot. Tom Van Bouschot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Matthijs, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 10 minutes, Sander Rouvroys mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 2860 Linksback and the VC Winksele players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of 2860 Linksback:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VC Winksele:s goal. The referee gave VC Winksele a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jean Slegers, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 2860 Linksback's Tom Van Bouschot. 0-2. Bart Matthijs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 16th match minute, 2860 Linksback was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerard Dauwen to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Bart Matthijs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Van Bouschot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Jean Slegers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Tom Van Bouschot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute, Kenney Wynaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Jean Slegers put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Tom Van Bouschot. In the 46th minute, Bart Matthijs made a precise shot to the right of Tom Van Bouschot. 2860 Linksback's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-7 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jean Slegers made a kick off. Jean Slegers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 55 minutes in the game, Jean Slegers dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Tom Van Bouschot came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by VC Winksele's Bart Matthijs. But to his dismay, Bart Matthijs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart Matthijs in the 61st minute of play forced 2860 Linksback's goalkeeper Tom Van Bouschot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Slegers did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-9 to the left of a surprised Tom Van Bouschot 64 minutes into the match. If Jean Slegers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tom Van Bouschot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bart Matthijs's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After 67 minutes, Bart Matthijs made it 0-10 with a short kick to the right side. 2860 Linksback's Tom Van Bouschot tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. VC Winksele made a substitution. Franck De Keijser replaced Christiaan Van de Plas. In the 73rd minute, Bart Matthijs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. From close distance Jean Slegers pressed in the 0-11 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 77 minutes into the game. Tom Van Bouschot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean Slegers in the 85th minute. A hard shot 87 in the game by Jean Slegers from a close distance when the talented Tom Van Bouschot managed to make a qualified save. 2860 Linksback's players were relieved. VC Winksele's Jean Slegers was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 87th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a defensive mix-up in 2860 Linksback's zone, Jean Slegers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Van Bouschot came out of the goal and Jean Slegers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kristen Goorts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Tom Van Bouschot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. VC Winksele's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
