Leo Dauwen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Edwin Koppen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Bryan Grootaers helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bacardi FC booed when Wils FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 78 played minutes, Bacardi FC's Boruc Wykowski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Godfried Van Gertsuyden came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Leo Dauwen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wils FC. Edwin Koppen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leo Dauwen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Many of Bacardi FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Bacardi FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Wils FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
