Seating: 1955, VIP seats: 170) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Edwin Koppen made the kick off which started today's match. 8 minutes into the match, Westbeke's Lex Stoffels sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godfried Van Gertsuyden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lex Stoffels in the 12th minute of play forced Wils FC's goalkeeper Godfried Van Gertsuyden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute of the match, Etienne Van Achteren tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sylvain Gobbelijns saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harald De Messemaeckre got free with Sylvain Gobbelijns in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lex Stoffels in the 20th minute of play forced Wils FC's goalkeeper Godfried Van Gertsuyden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lex Stoffels in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Godfried Van Gertsuyden saved Wils FC from getting behind. Lorenz Van Deijck made in the 26th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Etienne Van Achteren. Wils FC's Godfried Van Gertsuyden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lex Stoffels in the 30th minute of play. Godfried Van Gertsuyden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shen Cheng Hai in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 33rdth minute of the game Shen Cheng Hai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wils FC's Godfried Van Gertsuyden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sylvain Gobbelijns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald De Messemaeckre, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With his leg Sylvain Gobbelijns managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Wils FC's Edwin Koppen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Etienne Van Achteren hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Shen Cheng Hai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godfried Van Gertsuyden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lex Stoffels in the 45th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Westbeke's Louis Claevers got a free kick in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lex Stoffels was the one to do the kick off. When Thibaud Verhulst fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wils FC's protests and gave Thibaud Verhulst a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Wils FC's Godfried Van Gertsuyden got control of the ball when Lex Stoffels tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 52nd minute of the match Westbeke got a corner. Wils FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arsene Van Mechelen ran over to the corner to take the kick. 55 minutes into the game, Lorenz Van Deijck threw the ball into play from the sideline. Westbeke's Loui Reijckmans quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 56th minute Shen Cheng Hai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfried Van Gertsuyden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Wils FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shen Cheng Hai came free, but Godfried Van Gertsuyden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Louis Claevers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godfried Van Gertsuyden having to make a save. Westbeke's Sylvain Gobbelijns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harald De Messemaeckre in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shen Cheng Hai in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godfried Van Gertsuyden prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sylvain Gobbelijns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Etienne Van Achteren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Westbeke made a substitution. Dominic Van de Loock replaced Shen Cheng Hai. Thommy Maerschalks hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. If Claus Van Dijck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wils FC's Godfried Van Gertsuyden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Wils FC from getting a goal against them. Sylvain Gobbelijns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claus Van Dijck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sylvain Gobbelijns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claus Van Dijck in the 82nd minute of the match. Sylvain Gobbelijns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald De Messemaeckre in the 85th minute of play. When Bertrand Verhulst fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westbeke's protests and gave Bertrand Verhulst a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Westbeke getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Bertrand Verhulst hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the game, Wils FC's Harald De Messemaeckre nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sylvain Gobbelijns made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the referee ended the match the Wils FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
