Spectators: 9265 (Terracing: 6951, Seating: 2130, VIP seats: 184) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Benedicto Atarratze got the match started through his kick off. Mitch Lauwers came out of the goal in the 2nd minute to try and stop a shot by RWDM's Dirk Toeback. But to his dismay, Dirk Toeback quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Selebi-Phikwe's Mitch Lauwers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 6th minute of play. Dirk Toeback spun around in front of the goal 6 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Selebi-Phikwe's goal. In the 17th minute, Benedicto Atarratze ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Vandenberge was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Mitch Lauwers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 20th minute of play. Fernand De Beer was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After having played for 23 minutes, Benedicto Atarratze managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Selebi-Phikwe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedicto Atarratze was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's goal looked a bit too open when Lennert Van der Vloedt came free, but Mitch Lauwers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dirk Toeback in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mitch Lauwers saved Selebi-Phikwe from getting behind. Benedicto Atarratze scored 1-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Vandenberge, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th minute, Dirk Toeback ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mitch Lauwers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 41st minute of play forced Selebi-Phikwe's goalkeeper Mitch Lauwers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 minutes Selebi-Phikwe's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Conny Komen who took care of the corner kick. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Selebi-Phikwe's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Conny Komen was slow to take the kick. During this time RWDM's players had a chance to rest. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dirk Toeback made a kick off. Mitch Lauwers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Toeback in the 51st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Benedicto Atarratze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Vandenberge was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Benedicto Atarratze got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dylan Van Meenen charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dylan Van Meenen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Dylan Van Meenen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Selebi-Phikwe booed when RWDM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Van Meenen didn't get a good kick on the ball. RWDM made a substitution. Fre Schoovaerts replaced Dany-Adams De Scheper. A collision led to Selebi-Phikwe getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Rafik Oliwa hit a great ball. In the 75th match minute, RWDM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregory Van Hoeyveld to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute, Gregory Van Hoeyveld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Selebi-Phikwe's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abid Bubalo in the 79th minute. The corner led Selebi-Phikwe's Chris-George Serneels to fire away a dangerous shot which Tony Vandenberge despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mitch Lauwers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dirk Toeback in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Fernand De Beer made a precise shot to the right of Mitch Lauwers. Selebi-Phikwe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. 87 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's goal looked a bit too open when Fernand De Beer came free, but Mitch Lauwers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Fernand De Beer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mitch Lauwers was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 5-3 when Lennert Van der Vloedt sped through Selebi-Phikwe's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mitch Lauwers. Fernand De Beer took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mitch Lauwers. Mitch Lauwers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-3. There was no doubt that RWDM were the better team. RWDM's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
