CF Valentes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivó Pereira during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivó Pereira hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Simão Freire was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evaristo Zamora showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 47 minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alda Lourenço made a kick off. Evaristo Zamora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Simão Freire dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Evaristo Zamora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Simão Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vítor Sá came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the CF Valentes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Sá couldn't finish the play. Simão Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Zamora in the 63rd minute of the match.
