Spectators: 8367 (Terracing: 6312, Seating: 1935, VIP seats: 120) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mpenza Miti took the kick off in the first half of the match. Phillip Bandura kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Akil Thompson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Akil Thompson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Simamane Mhlathe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to FC Zimbane getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Steve Modise hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Mpenza Miti managed to get in a good position for a shot. BLACK STARS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mpenza Miti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simamane Mhlathe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute, Akil Thompson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simamane Mhlathe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. BLACK STARS FC's Rabelani Collins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ebrahim Magagane in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ebrahim Magagane stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mpenza Miti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Akil Thompson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the match, BLACK STARS FC's goalkeeper Rabelani Collins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Noxolo Kolwa. After a defensive mix-up in FC Zimbane's zone, Mpenza Miti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simamane Mhlathe came out of the goal and Mpenza Miti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Mpenza Miti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simamane Mhlathe was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. 70 minutes into the game, Noxolo Thwala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BLACK STARS FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Zimbane the free kick. Rabelani Collins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ebrahim Magagane in the 73rd minute of play. Basil Roberts's late challenge caught a BLACK STARS FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basil Roberts helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Zimbane's Basil Roberts got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Mpenza Miti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simamane Mhlathe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 2-2 became the score in the 87th minute when Ebrahim Magagane elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Mpenza Miti took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Simamane Mhlathe. Simamane Mhlathe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. BLACK STARS FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Zimbane for a fine match.
